West Pierce Fire & Rescue serves Pierce County Fire District 3, with an area of 31 square miles, and a population of 97,259. The InControl 400 series uses the FRC hand throttle style control knob to adjust pressure and RPM settings. Act as Infection Control Officer for East Pierce Fire and Rescue. The Department is tasked with providing fire protection, Advanced Life Support emergency medical services, rescue, hazardous materials response, fire prevention, code enforcement, fire education and a host of other services. In 1998, Pierce became the first and only single-source manufacturer of custom fire apparatus to achieve ISO 9001 certification, a standard for quality control. The Somerset Fire Department is a full time career organization comprised of 35 sworn personnel and one Administrative Assistant. Thirty two of the Department's members are assigned to shift. There are four crews, each with one Captain (shift commander), one Lieutenant and six firefighters. Crews work 24 hour shifts on a rotating basis. In addition to the line staff, the Chief, Deputy Chief and training Captain are assigned to an administrative schedule. ![]()
